Hushglass, published by Hushglass, is a privacy utility for Windows currently at version 1.0.4, with three versions released to date. Its purpose is to keep a chosen window fully visible and usable on the user's own screen while hiding it from screen-share viewers and screen recordings. When protection is active, anyone watching a share or recording sees an opaque privacy screen reading "Private content protected" in place of the concealed window. This makes the software relevant in the security and privacy category, particularly for users who present, teach, or collaborate over video calls and need to keep reference material, personal applications, or sensitive documents on screen without exposing them. Protection has been tested from the viewer's side against Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams desktop, OBS Display Capture, ShareX, Clipchamp, and the Windows Snipping Tool. Hushglass also hides its own window, so viewers never see the control panel or the list of protected windows. The software is offered in two tiers: the free edition protects one window, while Pro adds unlimited windows and automatic protection for pop-up windows opened by an already-protected application, with one licence covering two computers. Two documented limitations are worth noting before installing: protection applies when the entire screen is shared, and sharing the protected window itself as a single window is not supported; additionally, hardware capture, such as pointing a phone camera at the monitor, can still see the screen. Hushglass requires Windows 10 version 2004 or later, installs for the current user only, and raises no administrator prompt, which makes deployment straightforward on managed or locked-down machines where elevated permissions are unavailable.
